Trade Compliance Audit Specialist Project Overview: The Trade Compliance Audit Program is an Alphabet wide program that monitors import and export risk areas of Alphabet activities globally. This is achieved through data analysis, transactional reviews and periodically evaluating existing compliance processes and controls.

Overall Responsibilities:

  • The Audit Specialist responsibilities are to provide assistance with data analysis and transactional review for the Trade Compliance Audit program.
  • For the data analysis, the specialist will be responsible for maintaining an existing dashboard that reflects our global import activity as well as working with new sets of data to further the existing data analysis.
  • For the transactional review, the specialist will assist with performing reviews of imports into or exports out of selected countries. We have ongoing transactional reviews being performed for several countries which have been outsourced to a 3rd party service provider. However, we are responsible for overseeing the third party’s work and reviewing the results before they are communicated internally.
  • The Audit Specialist will assist with the expansion of our transactional review program.

    Top 3 Daily Responsibilities:

- Receive and review import data from multiple sources and assist in maintaining reports created from the import data.

- Work with new sets of data to analyze risk areas and identify potential issues; and

- Review transactional audit results and validate the accuracy of the findings.



Mandatory/Required Skills:

- BA/BS degree (Manager is open to degree). In lieu of degree, manager will consider two additional years of compliance audit experience

- 2-3 years of compliance audit experience

- Experienced in working with spreadsheets (whether it be G sheets or MS Excel)

- Able to work with large sets of data

- Experience with data analytics

- Excellent communication skills both oral and written for all levels

- Keen eye for detail - Self starter - Deadline driven - Extremely organized


Desired/Nice to Have Skills/Not Required:

- CPA license

 - U.S. Customs Broker license

- Experience working in international trade through freight forwarder, customs brokerage or in-house with a company

 - Familiarity with shipping documents (e.g. customs declaration, airway bill or bill of lading, invoice, packing list, etc.)
